Free MP3 Cutter Joiner 10.7

Everybody loves multipurpose tools that embed multiple functions into one single interface. A great example of such tools is Free MP3 Cutter Joiner.

It is capable of both splitting audio files into smaller pieces and merging together multiple tracks into single, new, larger ones.

Though even its name clearly says that it's a tool meant to handle MP3 files, I was still hoping it can save to other formats as well. Unfortunately, it can only save to the MP3 format. When it comes to cutting files this tool doesn't offer you the possibility to customize advanced parameters like the bit rate for the output file. It lets you tweak such settings only for the output of joining files.

Another downside regarding this tool is the fact that its interface looks completely outdated and undeniably unpolished. I also have some doubts regarding its reliability, as on one occasion it failed to deliver the output file that I needed, but otherwise there aren't any other remarkable flaws concerning this program.

Speaking of advantages, the most important one is in my opinion the fact that even though it looks outdated, the interface is also easy-to-use and allows a quite accurate selection of the start and end points during the cutting process. This makes it easy to select the precise fragment to be removed or extracted from the loaded audio file.

To sum it all up, there are quite a few things to criticize about this tool, but, on the other hand, it's free, so it might be worth closing an eye to the drawbacks after all, especially since there aren't many other free alternatives when it comes to cutting and joining audio files.
